I had the privilege of watching The Watchmen on IMAX this past weekend. For those of you rushing out the watch the newest Comic book movie, be warned, this isn’t your usual Comic book movie. The film is based on the comic book series by Alan Moore. The story plays off in an alternate 1985. President Nixon has won a third term and the United States is at the brink of Nuclear War with the USSR. The Doomsday Clock is permanently set at 5 minutes to midnight. Superheroes are outlawed. Edward Blake, better known as The Comedian gets murdered. A vigilante named Rorschach starts to investigate the murder but his investigation leads him to a more terrifying conclusion as he uncovers a sinister plot. Watchmen was directed by Zack Snyder who also directed 300 in 2006. Just a warning that this film is not for sensitive viewers. It’s very violent and not the next sequel of Spiderman.
