The moment finally arrived. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was released last week. I was extremely privileged to go an watch the sequel to the first Transformers movie on IMAX last week. I found it thoroughly enjoyable and exactly what I expected to be.
The secret to a good sequel is to keep the original cast in the loop and this is one reason why this is a brilliant example of a good sequel. Shia LaBeouf stars as Sam Witwicky, Megan Fox is back in her role as Mikaela Banes, Josh Duhamel (also famous for starring in Las Vegas) is back as Major Lennox and John Turturro makes an appearance as Agent Simmons. Decepticon forces return to Earth on a mission to rescue Megatron and capture Sam Witwicky after he learns the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformers/em>. The mission to protect humankind is joined by Optimus Prime, who has formed an alliance with international armies.
If there were any doubts about the origins of the Transformers this film certainly nips them in the butt. The storyline is strong, the action is non-stop and there are a few surprises. The fighting sequences were brilliantly done. Director Michael Bay did a real good job with this film. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen truly is a very enjoyable, action-packed, “fun” film to watch. This film is bound to be successful worldwide and I would not be surprised if there are plans for a 3rd installment in the Transformers saga.
This is the trailer for the film:
So my final take on this is, if you still haven’t watched the 2007 release of Transformers, do yourself a favor and get up to speed on the saga, then go watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. If you have seen the 1st film and you’ve made up some stupid excuse not to go watch this film, what are you waiting for? Since I already own the first film on DVD, this film will be a “must buy” when it’s finally released on DVD.

This movie should be rated R. If you seen the first don’t assume your kids can see the second. Every cuss word is heard in this movie…with the exception of the F work however, they said Fin this so you knew what they wanted to say.
If you are going to target kids through selling the toys shouldn’t you make sure they can safely see the movie! Movies can be good without the vulgarity.
Christina: Thank you for the comment. Nowadays vulgar language is present in most films, whether the film is made for kids or made for adults, which is quite scary. And I agree, they’re marketing the toys for kids, but what exactly is the deeper message they are sending if there are swear words in the film? Good question
