I haven’t really updated my progress on World of Warcraft in recent months. The reason for this was because I wasn’t playing the game for 4 months at all throughout the course of this year. It’s good to be back though. In the last one and half months I have been levelling my Tauren Warrior and working on my character’s professions. My character, Bliksempie is level 76 now and level 80 is in sight. His Jewelcrafting, Mining and First Aid Professions are almost maxed out. Despite recent changes by Blizzard in the World of Warcraft it still takes to long to level ones character to level 80, in my opinion. I think I’m one of those World of Warcraft players that just loves to level characters and to enjoy the social aspects of the game. I’m really finding the instances in Northrend very enjoyable, especially Violet Hold and Gun’Drak. Hopefully I’ll be level 80 by the time I publish next months report. One might think that a game of this magnitude which requires paid subscription to play would loose players in time of an economic crisis, but World of Warcraft has actually increased it’s subscriber base to 13.1 million. It’s still the biggest MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) in the world.
A few days ago Blizzard released patch 3.2.2 for World of Warcraft. Level 80 players looking for a new raiding experience will now be able to do a revamped Onyxia’s Lair which is available in 10 player and 25 player modes. Various class changes have been implemented as usual. You can read the full patch notes on the World of Warcraft website. It’s sad that I did not go and run Onyxia’s Lair when it was still in it’s level 60 mode. Then again, I might experience this when I’m level 80, who knows? It’s still unsure when the new expansion, Cataclysm is going to be released, but this should give level 80 players something to do until that time.
