Milla Jovovich was born in 1975 in Ukraine (then under Soviet rule). She started modelling when she was 11 years old. Over the years she appeared in Revlon advertisements and also modelled or did campaigns for L’Oréal cosmetics, Banana Republic, Christian Dior, Donna Karan and Versace. In 1988 she started her acting career, appearing in her first television feature film The Night Train to Kathmandu. In 1989 she appeared in her first feature film Two Moon Junction. Since then she’s had major roles in films like The Fifth Element in 1997, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc in 1999, Zoolander in 2001, Resident Evil in 2002, Resident Evil: Apocalypse in 2004 and Resident Evil: Extinction in 2007.
