Another remake is coming to the silver screen. Clash of the Titans (set for release in March 2010) is a remake of the 1981 film of the same name which starred Harry Hamlin (of L.A. Law fame, Laurence Olivier (brilliant British Actor), Maggie Smith (who also starred in the Harry Potter films in more recent times), Ursula Andress, Claire Bloom and a few other actors. Clash of the Titans is loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus (the legendary founder of Mycenae and of the Perseid dynasty there, was the first of the mythic heroes of Greek mythology whose exploits in defeating various archaic monsters provided the founding myths in the cult of the Twelve Olympians. Perseus was the hero who killed Medusa and claimed Andromeda, having rescued her from a sea monster). The 2010 version of the film will feature Sam Worthington (who starred in Avatar and Terminator: Salvation in 2009) in the role of Perseus, Liam Neeson (who has starred in Taken and various other films) in the role of Zeus, Ralph Fiennes (famous for his role in The English Patient and other films) in the role of Hades, Alexa Davalos in the role of Andromeda and Izabella Miko in the role of Athena. The budget for this movie is rumored to be between $150 and $180 million so one would expect that Legendary Pictures is pulling out all the stops for the special effects on this film. The 2010 version of Clash of the Titans has potential to be one of the biggest box office hits of the year. Only time will tell if this prediction will come true.

Sam Worthington is certainly doing the rounds on big films. The next big action star? This is going to be a great movie – definitely a profit making one.
Phillip Gibb: I agree. Seems that he’s getting quite popular in Hollywood
