Mariska Hargitay was born in 1964 in Los Angeles, California in the United States. She’s an actress by profession. She starred in her first feature film, Ghouls in 1985. Since then she has starred in Welcome to 18 in 1986, Jocks in 1987, Mr. Universe and Hard Time Romance in 1988, The Perfect Weapon in 1991, Leaving Las Vegas (which also starred Nicholas Cage and Elizabeth Shue) in 1995, Lake Placid in 1999 and most recently in The Love Guru (which also starred Mike Meyers and Jessica Alba) in 2008. Besides this, she’s also appeared in episodes of Falcon Crest, Baywatch, Wiseguy, Thirtysomething, Seinfeld, ER, The Single Guy, Law and Order, Law & Order: Trial by Jury and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2005 she won a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She also won the Emmy Award for Ou tstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2006. She’s definately worthy of being featured as the Daily Babe for the 10th of January 2010.
