The film is marked for released in April 2010. Macgruber is directed by Jorma Taccone (who starred in the 2009 film Land of the Lost). The film features appearances by Will Forte (who has starred in numerous episodes of Saturday Night Live) as MacGruber, Kristen Wiig (who lent her voice talent to Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs) as Vicki St. Elmo, Ryan Phillippe (who starred in Flags of Our Fathers in 2006, Crash in 2004 and Antitrust in 2001) as Lt. Dixon Piper, Val Kilmer (who needs no introduction) as Dieter Von Cunth, Maya Rudolph (who has starred in 50 First Dates in 2004 and Duplex in 2003) as Casey, Bill Hader, Powers Boothe as a US Army Colonel and Chris Kittinger. In the 10 years since his fiancĂ©e was killed, special operative MacGruber has sworn off a life of fighting crime with his bare hands. But when he learns that his country needs him to find a nuclear warhead that’s been stolen by his sworn enemy, Dieter Von Cunth, he figures he’s the only one tough enough for the job. Assembling an elite team of experts consisting of Lt. Dixon Piper and Vicki St. Elmo he will navigate an army of assassins to hunt down Cunth and bring him to justice. His methods may be unorthodox. His crime scenes may get messy. But if you want the world saved right, you call in MacGruber. Judging by the trailer Macgruber has the potential to be one of the funniest comedies of 2010.
