Wonderboom are a Alternative Rock band from Johannesburg, South Africa. They were formed in 1996. I’ve probably seen Wonderboom live more than 7 times over the years. The first time was at one of the TUKS Rag Festivals in the late 1990s. I also saw them live at Oppikoppi 1998 Infestation. In 2009 I saw them perform in Hatfield Square and at the STRAB music festival in Mozambique. Wonderboom consists of Martin Cito Otto, Garth McLeod, Wade Williams and Martin Schofield. In my opinion they are one of the best South African live acts. Over the years they have released a few albums. They made their debut with Is It in 1998. After they released Never Ever in 2000, Rewind in 2001, Tell Someone Who Cares in 2003, Hoekom in 2004, All Hits in 2005 and City of Gold in 2006. It’s Great to be Alive was released on their last album. This song is definately one of the best songs ever released by Wonderboom. I’m sure that they’ll keep making South Africa proud and that we’ll hear more from them in the future.
This is the video for It’s Great to Be Alive.
