SA Rugby has introduced a new mascott for the Springbok Rugby team. The next Rugby World Cup is only a year away from now. South Africa will be defending their World Cup title in the 2011 Rugby World Cup (which will be hosted by New Zealand). The 2010 Super 14 Tournament starts in less than 2 weeks. The Bulls will be defending their 2009 Super 14 title. South African rugby needs all the support it can get. I think this is probably the reason why SA Rugby have launched Bokkie, the new Springbok mascott.
