Church Square is one of the famous spots in Pretoria (the capital city of South Africa and the city I’ve been living in since 1996). The square was originally called Market Square. A statue of the former president of the South African Republic (or “Zuid Afrikaanse Republiek”), Paul Kruger, is in the middle of the square. This used to be the starting point for Tshwane Metro buses (but is sadly not anymore). I still remember circling this square on a daily basis in the bus we took to the Tshwane University of Technology (then Technikon Pretoria) campus in the West of the city. Scenes for the 1996 movie The Ghost and The Darkness (starring Val Kilmer) were shot here. I found Church Square at this location on Google Maps. This is a screenshot of what I found.
