3 reasons why I’m looking forward to Star Wars Episode VIII

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be released less than a month from now and my inner geek and I am extremely excited about what is probably the most-anticipated film release of 2017.

Star-Wars-Episode-8 3 reasons why I'm looking forward to Star Wars Episode VIII

Here’s what we know about the film so far:

  • The film is directed by Rian Johnson (who also directed 2012’s Looper).
  • It’s the first Star Wars film which Kenny Baker was not involved in the portrayal of R2-D2. Jimmy Vee was given the job, shortly before Baker’s death.
  • The film will be released just over 40 years after Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope )(which was released in 1977) and will mark the 40th anniversary of the Star Wars film franchise.
  • With a running time of 150 minutes, this will be the longest movie of the Star Wars saga.

I’m really excited to watch this film, so here are 3 reasons why I’m looking forward to watch Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi:

Reason 1: I’m curious where the storyline will go after The Force Awakens

I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed The Force Awakens and I have a few questions that need to be answered in The Last Jedi and I hope they get answered: Who is Rey? Why is Luke Skywalker living alone on an island? Will Kylo Ren try to rebuild the massive Death Star-like thing he had?

Reason 2: The trailer looks really awesome

The official trailer was released just over a month ago and it looks like The Last Jedi will be one hell of a ride and it does look like Rey is going to be tested by the Dark Side of the Force and that we’re going to be seeing some epic battles… Check it out below

Reason 3:  Benicio De Toro is going to be a villain in it

In case you did not know: Benicio Del Toro (an actor famous for his roles in films like Snatch and Sicario) was announced to be playing a villain in the film. He was previously cast as Darth Maul, the primary antagonist of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, but dropped out after George Lucas removed most of Maul’s lines from the script. I think he’s going to stun us with a great performance.

Well, there you have it, 3 reasons why I’m looking forward to Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.
