About Me
Recently @DieFokopFeetjie caught up with me and decided to ask me some questions. I thought that it would be a brilliant idea to post my answers on the About Me section of this blog.
Describe yourself with 5 words? Hardworking, Loyal, Feisty, Funky, Party-Hungry, Festival-Addict
Is there somebody special in your life? Not at the moment, but there have been a few ladies in the past, not going into details though
If you could have one superpower, what would it be? The ability to travel anywhere I want to go in a split second.
Who’s played the most influential part in your life? My family, my friends, mid 1990s Grunge Rock and all good music that came out after it. This obviously excludes Justin Bieber
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go, and why? The United States, because I have not been there yet and I want to see New York City before I die.
Which are your favourite places to hang out? Aandklas, Cafe Livingstone and Tings ‘n Times in Hatfield. (I’m a Pretoria boytjie you know)
How did you get involved with blogging? Someone I met online told me that I had way too much to say and that I should share it with the world. She suggested that I start a blog in middle 2008.
What do you think makes a good blog post? A good post is a post that a lot of people comment on. If they comment it means that you’ve struck a chord in their psyche or that you’ve touched them or pissed them off in some way.
What do you do when you are not working on your blog? I’m either gaming on World of Warcraft, thinking of ideas for new posts, watching TV shows or movies, Tweeting or I am out partying somewhere or enjoying South African music (sometimes all at once).
How do you keep coming up with content for your blog? I try to keep up with current events. I like to write about my take on things sometimes. Usually something Comrade Malema says pisses me off and this burning desire inside urges me to write something about the stupidity of it. I also scour the internet for interesting things from time to time.
You seem to have a big passion of South African music. Who are your favorite artists? I’m a huge fan of Fokofpolisiekar, Die Heuwels Fantasties, aKING, Van Coke Kartel, Jack Parow, Wrestlerish, Springbok Nude Girls and other bands. At the moment my favorite Afrikaans artist is Bittereinder (a Pretoria based band). I really have a great passion for SA music – I think a track record of attending 12 Oppikoppi Festivals over the years says it all.
Name some of the blogger’s whom you look up to and why? Griff from Watkykjy – because he’s not afraid to write exactly what he’s thinking, JHB Princess because she has one of the best Personal blogs I’ve ever read, Briget from BecauseIcan because she’s got a great sense of humor, Kikolani because she’s written some of the best blogging tips posts I’ve ever read and others. There have been so many of them that I’ve looked up over the last 2 years or so.
If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? If you thinking of starting a blog. Go for it. If you have already have a blog and you are losing all hope: Just keep on writing. Blogging is kind of a learning curve, you learn new stuff every day. Hang in there.
FYI: Running Wolf’s Rant was founded in 2008 by Running Wolf (AKA Henno Kruger). Since then the blog has grown considerably. More than 1500 posts have been on here in the last 2 years. The blog has also made it into the Top 10 on Afrigator and the Top 10 on MyScoop. In October 2010 Running Wolf’s Rant had a record-breaking 66,000 unique visitors. If you have any suggestions, propositions, comments or queries you are welcome to contact me.

Hi there! I would like to come in contact, to talk about a collaboration. Like to hear from you.
Hi Henno. Ster Kinekor Cinema Nouveau is currently running a cool competition – cinema lovers stand the chance of winning their very own film festival with five of their favourite movies, screened at their nearest Cinema Nouveau. The winner’s personal top five movies will be screened, back to back, for a full day and Ster Kinekor will also promote their personalised film festival to all South African movie-lovers. I was thinking, you might post up your own five favourite movies, and create interest in the competition at the same time? Check http://www.sterkinekor.com for details of how to enter the competition. Entries close Friday.
Thanks for sharing Helen
