On the Friday night at Oppikoppi 2012 Sweet Thing it was time for aKING to enjoy the 18,000+ strong crowd in front of the James Phillips stage. They did not disappoint.
aKING possibly played in front of the biggest crowd of people they’ve ever played before. I’ve seen them play a lot of times this year, but their set at Oppikoppi 2012 Sweet Thing was something special. They played a lot of the songs off their first album (much to the crowd’s delight). Hearing 18,000+ people single along to songs like “Guilty as Sin”, “Safe as Houses” and “Facebrick Constellations” is not something you hear every day.
aKING’s stage presence was also quite exceptional. They interacted very well with the Oppikoppi crowd – one of the reasons that this set was one of my favorite sets at the festival this year. I snapped this photo of aKING performing at Oppikoppi 2012 Sweet Thing and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 31st of August 2012.
Yesterday a photo featuring Quilotoa Crater Lake, Ecuador was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out.
