Albert Frost on stage @ FORR 2011
After watching The Smoking Mojos play the best gig that I’ve ever seen them play at the FORR (Fellowship of Rock ‘n Roll) festival it was the turn of SA music legend Albert Frost to make his way onto the stage at Ponta Malongane in Mozambique. To give you an idea of his “Legend” status in SA Music: Albert Frost has performed at every single Oppikoppi festival that has ever been held (since 1994). There is also no doubt in my mind that Albert Frost was born with a guitar in his hands (yes – he’s that good). Albert Frost performed with the original members of the Albert Frost Trio (Jorik Piennaar and Lani van der Walt of Not My Dog fame) at FORR this year. The performance was an epic an unforgettable one. I snapped this photo of Albert Frost on stage and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 15th of September 2011.
