Amman is the capital and largest city in the kingdom of Jordan in the Middle East. The city has an estimated population of 2 million people. The city was actually founded in 7000 BC and has had a municipality since 1909 AD. Amman was originally built on seven hills, but it now spans over an area of nineteen hills (each known as a Jabal, Tàl, Mount or Mountain). This photo of the city’s skyline has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 2nd of September 2010.
