An Interview with Jossie Ayame

It’s time for another Featured Babe on Running Wolf’s Rant and this one is a hottie. Pretoria based model Jossie Ayame  started modeling in late 2011 after wanting to become a model for years. She started out as an alternative model but has recently stopped defining herself as purely alternative and has started doing commercial work as well. She models in all genres from alternative to fashion to conceptual to avant-garde.

Jossie loves trying new things so she tries to experiment with different concepts and styles. She recently started getting into acting as well and she has a minor role in an upcoming film called “The Initiate” which is estimated to be released in July 2014. I recently had the privilege of interviewing Jossie Ayame, this is what she had to say:

What are you currently working on?

I’m working on a bunch of shoots with various concepts including my latest Emalyth set with pentagram bondage, a beauty shoot, a conceptual shoot in a bath and a pin-up style lingerie shoot.

What are main factors that attract you to modelling as a profession?

I love that you can be whoever (or whatever) you want to be in a photoshoot. You can be anything you can think of, there are no limits. It helps me escape reality.

What is the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you during a photo shoot?

Well I have quite a few funny stories but during my first implied nude shoot, which was in a large bird cage, both me and the photographer felt really awkward so she had to look away whenever I changed poses. In the middle of shooting, I was balanced in an awkward pose and fell over, exposing myself to her and getting stuck inside the cage in the process. All she did was turn bright red and look away and we both started laughing. It was hard to continue shooting for about 10 minutes because we kept on laughing about it.

Which style of modelling would you like to explore and why?

I’d love to do proper pin-up modelling because I think it’s really beautiful and classy, as well as artistic fetish modelling because it’s very dark and seductive but still artistic rather than trashy / erotic.

Who are your modelling role models and why?

I don’t really have modelling role models because I create my own style, but a few models whose work I admire are:

Miss Mosh – her pin-up work is breathtakingly beautiful and she often incorporates fetish elements into her shoots but keeps it artistic and Ophelia Overdose – her conceptual work is some of the most beautiful and unique that I have ever seen. She doesn’t have one boring shoot.

Which little pieces of advice can you offer aspiring models?

Don’t let the haters get you down. I’ve been criticized so many times because of my height, weight, style, facial expressions, everything imaginable. But I strive to prove that regardless of the problems someone sees with me, I am good at what I do. Just strive to be the best and prove them wrong.

What is your favorite quote and why?

“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live” – Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
It inspires me to reach for my goals but enjoy the present.
