Angel Falls is the world’s highest waterfall and is situated in Venezuela in South America. The falls are 979 metres (3,212 feet) high. They were spotted in 1912 by Venezuelan explorer Ernesto Sánchez La Cruz, but he did not publicize his discovery. They were not known to the outside world until American aviator Jimmie Angel flew over them on 16 November 1933 while he was looking for an ore bed. This photo is taken from Wynton’s World and has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 16th of March 2010. Watch this space for daily updates.
