For those of you who did not know, Big Ben is the nickname that’s given to the clock on the North end of the Palace of Westminster in London. Big Ben’s clock tower holds the largest four-faced chiming clock in the world and is the third-tallest free-standing clock tower on Earth. The tower was completed more than 150 years ago, in 1858.
It’s amazing that Big Ben was not destroyed when London was bombed during World War 2. I had to privilege to lay my eyes on this clock tower when I was in UK in 2004. It really is remarkable.
Vaibhav Dubey took this picture while he was playing with his camera at Westminster Bridge in London of Big Ben and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 9th of August 2012.
Yesterday a photo featuring featuring the New Nelson Mandela Statue was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out.
