On Thursday night at Oppikoppi 2012 Sweet Thing fans of SA Music were in for a treat at midnight. Bittereinder made their way onto the James Phillips stage and tore the crowd a new one. The Pretoria Rap ‘n Rollers had the 12,000+ crowd dancing in no time.
Bittereinder played one of the best sets that I’ve seen them play in 2012. The crowd was particularly impressed with the first song that has been released off their upcoming 2nd album, Dink Dans Masjien. Their blend of electro non-zef Afrikaans rap boomed over the PA and bass pumped into the crowd veins.
I’m pretty sure that we haven’t seen the last of Jaco Van Der Merwe, Peach van Pletzen and Louis Minnaar. Many music fans are looking forward to the release of their second album. I’m pretty sure that the album is going to blow South African music fans away in the remaining months of 2012.
I snapped this photo of Bittereinder performing on the James Phillips stage at Oppikoppi 2012 Sweet Thing and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 14th of August 2012.
Yesterday a photo featuring Jacques Moolman and Albert Frost on stage @ Oppikoppi 2012 Sweet Thing was the Daily Cool Photo on this blog, feel free to check it out.
