Blink 182 releases new single
Great news! Blink 182 are back! They’ve released their first single since their founding guitarist Tom DeLonge left the band last year. The song is called “Bored To Death” and features Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba on guitar.
It’s a brand new chapter in the band’s career, but this comeback single proves that they have not lost their touch for big and “harmless” pop punk hooks. The song is presumably the first single off Blink 182’s upcoming album, “California” (which will be released on the 1st of July). It’s the band first studio album since “Neighbourhoods” in 2011. The upcoming album is produced by John Feldmann (from Goldfinger).
I have to say that Blink 182 have not lost their touch and that the new single definitely sounds like something one would expect from them. Check out the lyric video for “Bored To Death” below, you’ll most likely agree with this statement.
Was I right or wrong? I guess I was probably right. If you’re a fan of the band, you’ll probably be cranking this up every day to prepare yourself for the release of “California”.
More great news is that Blink 182 announced Summer Tour dates for the USA a few hours after releasing the single. A Day to Remember, The All-American Rejects and All Time Low will be joining them on the road. It’s a pity that we haven’t heard a peep about possible South African dates, but keep your hopes up.
