A week or so ago the organizers of Rocking the Daisies (a festival held annually in October in the Western Cape) announced that British Indie act Bloc Party would be headlining the festival this year. Since then fans all over South Africa have been commenting on all social media channels (mostly Facebook and Twitter) and plenty have been asking the question “What about Jo’burg?”.
Well, good news for residents of Johannesburg and Gauteng: Bloc Party will be playing at the debut annual edition of the In The City Concert at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown on the 5th of October 2012! Who says asking things on Social channels don’t pay off?
Not only will you enjoy a night that will be impossible to forget, three top South African acts will also be supporting the multi award-winning and internationally acclaimed band on stage. You are just going to have to wait and see who it will be. Until then all you need to do is buy your ticket before they are all gone and start winding yourself up for one big night.
To avoid disappointment get your tickets early as organizers are releasing a limited number of tickets. Tickets are nice and easy on the wallet, a general pass is R265 (limited availability) and if you are seeking that extra something special, VIP will cost you R700. VIP includes a separate entrance, a raised special viewing area and complimentary drinks and snacks for the duration of the show. If for any reason the tickets are not sold out the Gate price will be R450 so buy your ticket pre-sold to take advantage of the exceptionally good value. Tickets are available from www.webtickets.co.za. For more info about the event visit www.inthecityjhb.co.za. Doors open at 7 PM on the night of the 5th of October.
