Brace yourself for Brandy Fest!

Attention Gautengers! If you like drinking brandy, you should not miss Brandy Fest 2017! This event is brought to you by the Green Live (the same people that have brought The Green Craft Beer Festival). It’s happening on the 2nd of September 2017 at Benoni Northerns Sports Club.

Brandy Fest is an initiative amongst many other events to follow this year, in order to show Johannesburg the beautiful venues that the East has to offer. The East Rand is home to the most outgoing, fun and vibrant population in Gauteng (Boet). So why has the East been left to suffer through the lack of quality festivals in recent times? The Green Live says, ‘NO MORE’! and will bring a host of festivals to the East Rand in 2017, bringing the hottest SA acts to your doorstep.

With 10 Brandy Distilleries to choose from, there is no better way to welcome in Spring than with an ice cold Brandy and lekker music. Joining in the festivities are Benoni Bluegrass / Country act Crystal Park, Lady rockers Cortina Whiplash, Rambling Bones, Garage Rock Icons Hellcats, Rock Monsters The Black Cat Bones and headliner, Afrikaans king of rap Jack Parow.

Jack Parow is an Afrikaner rapper from Cape Town and it seemed the perfect fit for this Brandy loving musician to Headline The Green Live’s first Brandy Fest. Parow is well known for his contribution to the song “Die Vraagstuk” with Die Heuwels Fantasties, and for performing with them at the Oppikoppi festival in 2009. He has contributed and collaborated with various other artists such as Die Antwoord and Francois Van Coke. Jack Parow’s first release was the Cooler as Ekke EP in December 2009.

Take note that children under 12 are welcome free of charge accompanied by an adult. No 13 – 17 year olds are allowed and no food or drinks allowed through the gates. The fun starts at 12 noon and ends at 10 PM. Tickets cost R150 and are available here. Also note that there is a booking fee on tickets.
