Brace yourself for the Sandton Craft Beer Fair

Living in Johannesburg? Looking for something to do this weekend? Well, great news is that after an enormously successful first run, the Sandton Craft Beer Fair (featuring music & gourmet food) will be taking place at one of Jozi’s most idyllic venues, The Sands on the 8th of February 2014 (this week Saturday).

Located right in the heart of Sandton, this central location will be showcasing 11 breweries with over 40 beers and ciders, a beer-themed cocktail bar, some of South Africa’s top DJ’s and bands, as well as a delicious variety of gourmet food stalls.

Sandton Craft Beer Festival

There’s no doubt in my mind that South Africans come from a culture beer drinking. We enjoy the workmanship, the taste and the design of the process. We find ourselves in the midst of a period where there are several microbreweries out there but they are not easily available to us. This brings us to the the main reason why the Sandton Craft Beer Fair has been organised – to present the opportunity to engage with some of SA’s top microbreweries.

Some of the fantastic brewery houses that will be on show on Saturday the 8th will be: Aces Brew Worx, Boston Breweries, Cape Brewing Co., Citizen, Clarens Brewery, Copperlake Brewery, Darling Brew, Everson’s Cider, Jack Blacks, Mitchell’s Beer, Robson’s Real Beer, SMACK! Republic Brewing Co., TS Brewery and Three Skulls Brew Works.

Having tasted most of the beers offered by these brew masters in the past year at other events I can definitely vouch for the top quality of their brews, so try not to miss the Sandton Craft Beer Festival. Pre-sold tickets cost only R120 and are available from https://thesands.nutickets.co.za/events. Tickets sold at the door on the day will cost R150.
