In case you did not know, Up the Creek 2013 is making its appearance on the horizon. This festival (which happens to be one of my favorite ones on the SA Music Festival calendar) will be held from the 31st of January to the 3rd of February next year.
I must admit that Up The Creek 2012 was one of my favorite festivals this year. It’s well organized and the vibe is absolutely awesome. I would not mind making my way to the 2013 edition.
Up The Creek 2013 is going to be a lekker one, I can feel it in my bones. Picture this: One river, three stages, four days, loads of music and comedy and festival goers with a passion for some of South Africa`s best music in common. It can only be epic if you ask me. Up the Creek 2013 is brought to you by 4th Street.
The usually quiet camp site close to Swellendam (in the Western Cape) will once again be transformed into a slightly surreal spot of revelry, raging rock and soulful tunes, performances from another planet and shenanigans of the type you can only pull off when you`re safely tucked in next to the mighty Breede River for four days.
There’s no VIP nonsense, no pretence and no cliques – just a beautiful river, three epic stages, thirty awesome live bands and some of our country’s coolest comedy acts.
If you pull in on Thursday the 31st of January already, you’ll be in for a chilled-out preview gig at the Rolling Stone SA stage. You’ll also be able to choose the best spot for your tent and kick start the weekend so it’s cooking when your friends finally show up! The line-up for Up the Creek 2013 is going to be nothing short of fantastic and will be announced in November 2012, so keep your eyes and ears peeled.
The 4th Street Main Stage, MK River Stage and the all night long Rolling Stone SA stage will be running over the weekend. Only one stage will have live acts at a time, so you won’t miss out on your favourite acts. Pretty awesome if you ask me.
