It’s almost time of the month again. Yes folks, Park Acoustics is coming this weekend and it’s going to be a huge one.
Pretoria and Gauteng music fans will be able to enjoy the likes of Gil Hockman, Al Bairre, Matthew Mole, Tailor and Fokofpolisiekar on the 25th of November at the Voortrekker Monument. This will be extra special because Fokofpolisiekar will be performing unplugged with the original line up for the first time in 5 years.
Besides the music there will also be a comedy stage for the 3rd time at Park Acoustics. This time Kgomotso “The Hit”, Martin Jonas and
John Vlismas will be entertaining the crowds with their epic blend of stand-up comedy. These okes will have you in stitches after you’ve enjoyed some of the best that SA Music has to offer. The comedy action kicks off at 4:30 PM.
And don’t forget that BraaiBoy will also be making his appearance as usual on the day at Park Acoustics. Due to space constraints and health & safety to others the organizers had to stop people from bringing in their own braai, gas and potjie equipment to the venue. To ensure that you still have that Sunday vibe you enjoy so much, Park Acoustics and BraaiBoy joined forces a few months ago. Park Acoustics now provides you with a professional braai facility all under the watchful eye of South Africa’s notorious braai personality. BraaiBoy will be making sure that the fire is always hot, offer you some braai tips and some braai recipes. Music lovers are encouraged to bring some meat along and have some fun in the sun with him.
In case you did not know, Postbox is an arts and culture initiative with the aim to provide all kinds of creative’s with a platform to feature their art, design, photography, graffiti, music, film, animation, poetry, dance, fashion, architecture, and anything else that qualifies as creative and original! The Postbox initiative includes an annual publication, events, online media, workshops, exhibitions, etc. Make sure you check out the Postbox stall at Park Acoustics.
Park Acoustics is brought to you in association with Jack Daniels. Tickets are available for R80 via Ticketbreak or R100 at the gate. Children under 6 can enter for free. Also note that there’s a R10 charge per vehicle at the gate Voortrekker Monument Nature Reserve. There will be foods stalls and bar facilities on site to provide you with ample refreshments.
Leave your weapons, illegal substances, domestic animals and bad vibes at home please. Make sure that you remember your sunglasses and sunscreen. Pretoria gets very hot this time of the year.
I don’t intend to miss one of the most exciting Park Acoustics gigs of the year. It’s going to be legendary. I haven’t had the privilege to see Matthew Mole live and I am really looking forward to that. I also don’t have to tell you how cool the Fokofpolisiekar set is going to be. You don’t get to see these Bellville boys go full on acoustic much. You can check out the Facebook Event Page and the Park Acoustics Facebook page for more info! Also feel free to follow @parkacoustics on Twitter for regular updates.
Get off your butt and support SA Music and Comedy, it’s the right thing to do. See you there on Sunday! W
