Park Acoustics 30 June 2013 Catch the Black Cat Bones and Koos Kombuis at Park AcousticsThis edition of Park Acoustics is the perfect way to end the month of June 2013. I don’t need to write ten paragraphs to tell you how cool the Black Cat Bones and Koos Kombuis are live. Black Cat Bones are considered by many people (including MK) as the best live act in South Africa and Koos Kombuis is one of the pioneers of Afrikaans and South African alternative music and has been around since the early 1980′s. I think that speaks for itself.

Die Skynmaagde can be described as the post-apocalyptic Afrikaans Folk Grunge, suitable for certain members of the family, Late Night Fox are a low fly jungle pop sensation from Pretoria which can described as a “bowl of jungle pops on Freedom Day” and Johannesburg based The Brother Moves On’s genre can be described as “Pop-U-Lar”. This musical mix is definitely going to be interesting. Besides this you can look forward to DJ Michael Lezar’s swing set and Sunset Comedy featuring Kedibone Mulaudzi, Ryan Whittal and Mel Miller when the acts have stopped performing.

As usual, Braaiboy will be there (so leave your braai equipment at home, but bring the meat you want to braai), Postbox will have their exhibition stand and the Hotbox Express will be ready to take Park Acoustics folk up the hill to Fort Schanskop. Gates open at 10 AM and the first act is up at 11 AM. Tickets cost R80 on the Park Acoustics website or R90 at the gate. Children under 6 years old can enter for free. Take note that there’s also a R10 parking charge per vehicle to enter the Voortrekker Monument nature reserve. For more information, check out the Event page on Facebook.

This promises to be one of the coolest events of the month! See you there folks!
