Trevor Noah appeared on the David Letterman Show on CBS in the USA 4 days ago. It’s great to see that South African comedians are getting more exposure abroad. It’s not the first time that he’s appeared on American TV though, he made an appearance on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno Show on NBC in January last year.
Because of this extra exposure, he’s now one of the most followed South Africans on Twitter with more than 838,000 followers on his @Trevornoah account. I have to admit that he is not my favorite South African comedian, but one has to admire what he has achieved in comedy over the last few years.
Trevor Noah is an inspiration to many upcoming South African comedians. If you ask me he’s fast changing perceptions and ideas about South Africans that foreigners have. It will be great to see more of our comedians (like John Vlismas and Chris Forrest) doing sets on American TV in the future.
This is a clip of Trevor Noah’s five minutes of fame on the David Letterman Show on CBS. He takes the audience on a tour of growing up with a Xhosa mother and a German father and explains just how displaced he has felt in New York City.

I’m going to be honest with you today. I love drinking beer. It’s one of my favorite past times. There’s nothing like a cold Black Label after a long day at work. There are also not many things that gives you the same sensation as the taste of your first beer at a music festival. I consider myself as a moderate to extreme punter – sometimes I can be very mellow and other times I just take things too far. I’m pretty sure that many of my friends and some of you reading this can relate.
Being a regular in Hatfield Square since 1997 and a musical festival junkie since 1998 I’ve seen many drinking tricks and drinking games over the years. I’ve seen blokes that can down a beer in one second, an oke than can funnel a full quart of Black Label and still manage to stand afterwards and another oke that can shotgun a beer in less than 2.5 seconds. I’ve also been the proud co-creator of a Black Label tree at Oppikoppi (I think this tells you how much I love beer).
The point is, I have seen and experienced many things over the years, but I have not seen a girl drinking a beer through her ear. Camera trick or not, this is pretty damn impressive.
I told you that this was impressive. I’m just wondering if this is medically and anatomically possible. Leave a comment on this article and let me know what your thoughts are about this. I’d like to hear from you.

I’m going to be honest with you folks. I’m not the kind of guy that spends time in the gym or practices a double backflip in his spare time. I’m the geeky looking baldy photographer dude that spends more time in front of his computer than the average person should. I spend up to 8 hours a day on Facebook (mostly because it’s part of my job) and I tweet a lot too.
I know that my lifestyle could be a lot more healthier but I just don’t care. Exercising just seems like a shitload of effort. I’ll much rather write about something that frustrates me than go jogging around the blog five times to get rid of frustration. I do love taking a walk or exercising my drinking arm at my local watering hole though – and that seems to be helping me cope.
It doesn’t seem that I have something to worry about though. There’s a grandma of 90+ years old out there and she can do a double backflip. If you don’t believe me, check out the video below.
Excellently executed double backflip, don’t you think? This video may have been posted 3 years ago on YouTube but that doesn’t change the fact that you can still do a double backflip when you’re 90+ years old.
