Star Trek: Into Darkness will be amazing movie audiences later in 2013, but that doesn’t mean that you have to wait for a dose (or double dose) of the Vulcan awesomeness that is Spock.
Just thinking of the new Star Trek movie brings me close to Geekasm. The film is one of the most anticipated films of the year and I’m not surprised that Audi have released a new advert for the Audi S7 featuring the old Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and the new Spock (Zachary Quinto) a few days ago.
The two legendary Spocks compete against eachother in the advert (which is fittingly entitled “The Challenge”). First they challenge each other at chess, then they race it eachother to the golf course. Whoever gets there last must pay for lunch. You’re probably wondering which one of the Spocks wins this challenge, so check out the video clip below to find out.
This Spock vs Spock advert is one of the funniest ones that I’ve seen in 2013. It’s awesome to see both of them in the same advert. What did you think of it? Leave a comment and let me know. Feedback is appreciated and welcome here.

OUTsurance was established in 1998. Since then it has become one of South Africa’s most well-known Insurance brands. OUTsurance has a reputation for giving clients excellent service. At one stage they promised that clients calls would be answered within 60 seconds, but I’m not sure if this promise is still valid. They have more than 400 trained agents ready to take your calls in their call center.
OUTsurance was voted as South Africa’s favourite short-term insurance brand in 2012. They are also responsible for providing pointsmen at various intersections to relieve heavy traffic. One simply can not ignore OUTsurance. They’ve also been known for their memorable and sometimes irritating TV adverts.
Their newest series of adverts predicts their agents “Bending Over Backwards” to provide clients with excellent service. I find the concept quite original. I’m pretty sure that something like this has not been done before. This is not an irritating advert. Check out the advert below if you don’t believe me.

I recently got my Samsung Galaxy S3 and I must admit that I’m pretty damn satisfied with it (even though it’s been in for repairs for a faulty battery / charging issue since Monday). The speed at which this smartphone operates and its functionality is pretty damn awesome. I am impressed with how much apps you can run at the same time. It’s the quickest smartphone that I’ve ever owned.
I’m also blown away by how smooth it runs apps like Seesmic (for Twitter), Facebook for Android, Instagram and the speed at which you take photos on it. I went for the Samsung Galaxy S3 because the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was just too big for me. I’m fully aware that Note 2 has the capability to run apps on a split screen. I”m also aware that you can take videos and still take photos with the Note 2, but that doesn’t really bother me. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the perfect phone for what I need and want to do.
Samsung Mobile released a TV advert in the USA recently which features a bunch of geeks who are developing a game called “Unicorn Apocalypse” to promote Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. They’re subtly mocking the Blackberry in this advert and their showcasing the functionality of the Samsung Galaxy range of phones, check it out below.
