The Chamonix Skywalk opened to the public on the 21st of December 2013. It’s a five-sided glass structure installed on the Aiguille du Midi mountain above Chamonix in the French Alps (on the 17th of December 2013). Visitors can “step out into the void” and have a stunning view of the +/- 1000 meter drop below.
In today’s Daily Cool Photo a journalist (wearing slippers to protect the glass floor) stands in the “Step into the Void” installation. The photo was taken by Robert Pratta and published by Reuters. Even though the glass floor looks safe, I doubt if I’ll have the guts to step onto it, it just sounds dangerous. One has to admit that it probably has a stunning view though.
So, what do you think of the Chamonix Skywalk? Will you step onto it or will you give it a skip the next time you’re in France / Europe? Leave a comment and let me know what you think. Feedback is appreciated and welcome here. If you’v enjoyed reading about this stunning structure, feel free to share this article with your friends on Facebook and Twitter.
