Chromium on stage @ RAMFest 2012 Johannesburg

On Saturday I made my way to RAMFest 2012 Johannesburg at Riversands Farm. After watching Newtown Knife Gang and Shadowclub I was pretty amped up to see Chromium for the first time. This 4 piece metal band, originally from Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape has been creating a buzz in the SA Music scene over the last few years. The band relocated to Johannesburg a few years ago. The members of Chromium are Jared Gunston (on guitar & vocals), Adrian Basson (on bass), Justin Du Preez (on guitar and vocals) and Hannes Matthysen (on drums). The band is currently touring to promote their third album “Self Titled” nationally with plans to take it international once again in 2012. This album is a follow up to the highly successful album “Confessions of a Hero” and promises to be a whole new sound with a mature approach while the band is still sticking to their metal roots. I snapped this photo of Chromium performing on stage at RAMFest 2012 Johannesburg on Saturday and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 15th of March 2012.
