In February 2011 I made my way to Hatfield Carnival (which was held in Hatfield Square in Pretoria). The crowd of +/- 10,000 people were treated by some of the best artists local music has to offer. The Line-up included the likes of The December Streets, Wrestlerish, Zebra and Giraffe, Tidal Waves and Van Coke Kartel. Wrestlerish were definitely one of the highlights for me. This band has come a long way since the first time I saw them perform at RAMFest 2010 JHB at Emmarentia dam. Their debut album The Rude Mechnical is an absolutely piece of brilliance and has become quite popular amongst the faithful. The crowd were singing along to songs like Oliver Tambourine and Bad News at Hatfield Carnival. Wrestlerish are releasing their 2nd album in the very near future, so keep your ears to the ground. I snapped this close up photo of Wrestlerish frontman Werner Olckers at Hatfield Carnival and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 4th of June 2011.
Yesterday a photo featuring a Close Up Shot of Die Tuindwergies @ Vredefest March 2011 was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant.
