Crowd Scene At Oppikoppi 2009 Smoorverlief

In August 2009 my friends and I attending Oppikoppi Smoorverlief on a farm outside Northam in the Limpopo province in South Africa. It was one of the best music festivals that I’ve been to. Koos Kombuis played an epic set on the main stage. It was also the first time that I watched Die Heuwels Fantasties perform. There were also epic performances by Fokofpolisiekar, aKING, Van Coke Kartel and Albert Frost (to name just a few). There’s less than 3 months to go before Oppikoppi 2011 Unknown Brother (which takes its name from a song by The Black Keys). I can’t wait, it’s one of the festivals I just can’t miss. It’s definitely one of the highlights of my year, every year. I snapped this photo at Oppikoppi 2009 Smoorverlief of the crowd gathering around to watch Tidal Waves perform. This photo has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 12th of May 2011.

Yesterday a photo featuring the Crowd at Arcade Empire during Isochronous set was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant.
