Dan Patlansky on stage @ Arcade Empire
On Friday night I made my way to Arcade Empire to catch the Smoking Mojos, the Newspapers and Dan Patlansky live. After being entertained by the Newspapers and the Smoking Mojos (who were joined by Aidan Martin on stage) I was pretty amped up for the main act of the evening. One word can describe Dan Patlansky’s guitar playing ability: Brilliance. Dan Patlansky is one of the most underrated acts in South Africa, but that has been changing since his appearance on the main stage at Oppikoppi Unknown Brother last year (in front of more than 15,000 people).
He’s one of only a few artists that are endorsed by Fender in South Africa, and if you see him and his band live, you’ll understand why. The Pretoria faithful were treated to an excellent blend of Bluesy Old School Rock ‘n Roll on Friday night and there’s no doubt in my mind that they were definitely stunned by Dan Patlansky’s set. I snapped this photo of Dan Patlansky and his band on Friday night at Arcade Empire and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 19th of April 2012.
Yesterday a photo featuring aKING on stage @ Vredefest April 2012 was the Daily Cool Photo, feel free to check it out.
