Dan Patlansky on stage @ Up The Creek 2012
Last week Thursday at Up The Creek the awesomeness started with The December Streets and was followed up by Piet Botha and his band (consisting out of the members of Akkedis). Dan Patlansky and his band were up next. This maestro of the electric guitar played one of the best sets I’ve ever seen him play. For those of you who did not know, Dan Patlansky is one of the few artist in South Africa who are endorsed by Fender. A few months ago I had an interview with him on the blog in which he claimed that he wasn’t born with an electric guitar in his hands – but after seeing him on Thursday last week I’m still disputing that fact.
Dan Patlansky’s set at Up the Creek 2012 was definitely one of the highlights of the festival. There are artists in SA that play the guitar with such enthusiasm and passion (if you ask me). He recently released a new album entitled 20 Stones, make sure you get your music loving paws on a copy of it. If you haven’t seen him live, do yourself a favor, you will not be disappointed. I snapped this photo of Dan Patlansky performing at Up the Creek 2012 and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 10th of February 2012.
