On Sunday the 15th of July I made my way to the National Botanical Gardens in Pretoria to catch performances by the Graeme Watkins Project, 7th Son and Dance You’re On Fire at another Old Mutual Music in the Gardens concert. The first act on the day were Dance You’re On Fire.
This Johannesburg based band has been making waves in the SA Music industry in recent years. They burst onto the scene in 2010 with their hit single “Blockade”. Since then Dance You’re On Fire have gained a huge fan base in South Africa thanks to other hit singles like “Boxes of Tigers” and “Michelle”. Like many bands on the road to rock superstardom they have been getting better at performing live with each show they play. Dance You’re On Fire pulled a huge crowd at last year’s Oppikoppi festival and are set to pull a huge crowd again at this year’s festival.
Their performance on Sunday completely blew me away. These okes have definitely gotten a lot better at performing live since I first watched them perform in 2010 at Oppikoppi. I snapped this photo of the band performing at the Pretoria National Botanical Gardens on the day and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 20th of July 2012.
Yesterday a photo featuring Southern Gypsey Queen and Albert Frost on stage @ Cafe Barcelona was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out. Watch this space for daily updates on this blog in the Photography and Babes category.
