On Friday night, @BaasDeBeer and I went to watch Die Tuindwergies, Klopjag and Naas Veld at Firkin, Centurion. The crowd at Firkin, Centurion were all part of a Guiness World Record attempt. 1013 shots of Jagermeister were poured into trays and trays and trays of shooter glasses and distributed to the whole crowd in the pub. In 1 second the 1,000+ strong crowd all downed 1 shooter at the same time.
For the mathematical ones out there: that’s 25 litres of Jagermeister gone in 1 second. An auditor confirmed the amount of shots. Die Tuindwergies will have to wait 3 weeks before the Guinness World Record is confirmed. Quite amazing if you ask me. The official hashtag for the event was #JagerDwerg and it trended locally in Pretoria on Twitter. An awesome experience overall. I snapped this photo of Die Tuindwergies (who are currently touring to promote their second studio album) performing on the night and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 8th of July 2012.
Yesterday a photo featuring Naas Veld on stage @ Firkin, Centurion was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out.
