Dirk Ace and Da Faith Machine / DADAFM on stage @ FORR 2011
We arrived at the FORR (Fellowship of Rock ‘n Roll) festival on Wednesday the 31st of August 2011. It took me, @BaasDeBeer and @RuanHaha after a 9 hour drive from Pretoria. The first act to make their way onto the stage at Ponta Malongane in Mozambique were DADAFM (Dirk Ace and Da Faith Machine). Dirk Uys (the band’s front man) is a SA music legend. He was one of the founders of the now infamous Voëlvry tour. This tour took place in 1987/88 and was undertook by Koos Kombuis and other rock rebels to spread the gospel of Alternative Afrikaans to South Africa’s campuses. I snapped this photo of DADAFM on stage at FORR this past weekend and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 7th of September 2011.
Yesterday a photo featuring a Beach view @ Ponta Malongane in Mozambique was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out. Watch this space for daily updates in the Daily Babe and Daily Cool Photo sections.
