Today’s Friday Loud tune comes to you from UK metalcore act Bring Me The Horizon (who headlined RAMFest in Johannesburg and Cape Town in March 2013). The song that I’ve selected is “Shadow Moses”. It was released on the band’s fourth studio album, Sempiternal, in January 2013.
The song reached number 82 on the UK Singles Chart and number 2 on the UK Rock Singles Chart. The song’s title is a reference to the location of the same name in the video game Metal Gear Solid. The vocal arrangement at the beginning of the song is also a reference to the song “The Best is Yet to Come” (which appears on the game’s soundtrack).
Bring Me The Horizon hail from Sheffield, England and was formed in 2004. The current members of the band are Oliver Sykes, Lee Malia, Matt Kean, Matt Nicholls and Jordan Fish. In all the band’s album notes, all of their lyrics are said to be written by Sykes while all five members – as a band – were credited with writing their music. They completely blew me away at RAMFest this year. I’m pretty sure that “Shadow Moses” will get you in the mood for the weekend, have a listen below.
So, are you feeling amped for the weekend now? Leave a comment and let me know what you think. Feedback is appreciated and welcome. If you enjoyed today’s Friday Loud tune, feel free to share this article with your friends on Facebook and Twitter.
