About a week ago Universal Pictures released the trailer for Jurassic World, a highly anticipated science fiction film that will most likely be one of the highest grossing films of 2015. The film is the fourth installment in the Jurassic Park film franchise (which is based on the novel of the same name by Michael Crichton).
Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar off the Pacific coast of Central America, now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. This new park is owned by the Masrani Global Corporation. Owen (Chris Pratt), a member of Jurassic World’s on-site staff, conducts behavioral research on the Velociraptors. At the request of the corporation, the park’s geneticists create a genetically-modified hybrid dinosaur.
Judging by the trailer below, things obviously go sideways…
I have to admit that I’m looking forward to seeing this film (which features appearances by Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, BD Wong, Judy Greer and Irrfan Khan). It would’ve been nice to have someone from the original cast in the film though. The screenplay was written by Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow (who is also directing this feature).
Let’s hope that Jurassic World lives up to expectations. Leave a comment and let me know what you think of this film. Do you think this will be a hit or do you think that it will be a flop at the box office?
