Now this is a game that could have epic levels op addiction. (Yes, I’m talking early internet MUD levels). Cut The Rope was developed by Russian developer ZeptoLab in 2010. ZeptoLab are a team of developers and according to their official website they are “dedicated to the science of fun”. For those of you who did not know, Cut The Rope is a physics-based puzzle video game originally developed for handheld gaming platforms.
Over 60-million mobile users are already playing the game on their phones. The Good News is that Cut the Rope has recently been developed for the web by Internet Explorer 9. You can play Cut The Rope for free at www.cuttherope.ie.
So you are asking yourself what’s the aim of this game? Well, it’s quite simple. All you have to do is manipulate the ropes, airbags and balloons to feed the main character, Om Nom, with candy (and gather stars while you’re at it). The web version was developed on Windows 7 (using HTML5 and IE9) and features 25 free levels. It can also can be fixed to the Windows 7 taskbar (allowing users access to 7 previously unseen levels). To do this, drag and drop the game (when opened in IE9) onto the Windows 7 taskbar.
I know what you are thinking. “It’s just another game”. Well, you might be wrong. Try it out and tell the folks at Microsoft South Africa (@MicrosoftSA on Twitter or Microsoft South Africa on Facebook) what you think about it.
