Gothenberg is the 2nd largest city in Sweden (behind the capital city Stockholm). The City of Gothenburg was founded in 1621 by King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden. Gothenburg was heavily influenced by the Dutch. Dutch city planners were contracted to build the city as they had the skills needed to build in the marshy areas around the city. During the summer daylight extends 17 hours in Gothenburg but lasts only around 7 hours in late December. This photo of the Gothenburg Skyline has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant.
