Great Sphinx of Giza
The Great Sphinx of Giza is a statue of a reclining lion with a human head that stands on the Giza Plateau in Giza on the west bank of the Nile, near modern-day Cairo in Egypt. It’s commonly believed that the Great Sphinx of Giza was built between 2555 BC and 2532 BC by the Egyptians of the Old Kingdom. This is definately one of the places in the world I have to experience for myself. This photo has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo for the 10th of April 2010 on Running Wolf’s Rant.
