Guy Buttery on stage @ Park Acoustics

On Sunday I made my way to Park Acoustics (which was held at Fort Schanskop at the Voortrekker Monument). After watching Shannon Hope’s set (and being blown away by her amazing voice) I had to privilege to watch a performance by Guy Buttery. For those of you who did not know, Guy Buttery hails from Durban in Kwazulu Natal.

He played an excellent acoustic set in a perfect setting on Sunday. His debut album When I Grow Up… was nominated for Best Instrumental Album of the Year and Best Newcomer for 2002 at the South African Music Awards, as well as being the youngest nominee in the history of the event. He’s one of the most talented musicians that I’ve seen live this year. He was joined by Dan Patlansky during his set on Sunday, which made it a pleasant experience. I snapped this photo of Guy Buttery performing at Park Acoustics and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 28th of June 2012.

Yesterday a photo featuring Shannon Hope on stage @ Park Acoustics was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out.
