Hamburg is located in Germany. The city takes its name from the first permanent building on the site, a fortress ordered built by Emperor Charlemagne in 808 AD. Hamburg is the 2nd largest city in Germany with an estimated population of 1.7 million living in the city’s urban area and +/- 4.3 million people living in the Hamburg metropolitan area. Hamburg is also the home of the 3rd largest port in Europe (behind Antwerp and Rotterdam in the Netherlands). Hamburg is definately on my list of European cities that I want to visit one day. This photo of the Hamburg skyline has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 22nd of October 2010.
Watch this space for daily updates in the Photography and Babes categories on Running Wolf’s Rant. Yesterday a photo of the Tunis Skyline was the Daily Cool Photo on the blog. A large chunk of the posts on here covers South Africa. There’s also plenty of posts in the regularly updated Music and Movies categories. Feedback is appreciated and welcome on this blog. Feel free to comment on anything that you might find interesting here.
