Hatfield Gautrain Station Interior
On the 2nd of August 2011 the Gautrain started operations between Hatfield station (in Pretoria) and Rosebank station (in Johannesburg). I was privileged to undertake the media trip between Hatfield station and Sandton station on the day that this service opened. Since then I’ve been on the Gautrain plenty of times, utilizing it to visit friends in Johannesburg and to generally to get around South Africa’s province with the biggest population. I’ve only experienced a delay once between the Pretoria and Centurion stations (due to delayed maintenance on the line). I must say that I’m impressed with the service overall. According to figures released last week, about 28,000 people are using this commuter service daily. I’m sure that this number will increase once the final link between Johannesburg Park Station and Rosebank opens in the near future. I snapped this photo of the interior of Hatfield Gautrain Station and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 29th of September 2011.
Yesterday a photo featuring a Close up shot of Francois Van Coke @ Arcade Empire was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out.
