I’ve been a resident of the capital city of South Africa for the past 14 years. Pretoria has truly grown on me. Every year the Jacaranda trees bloom for the first 3 weeks in October, covering the city in a blanket of purple flowers. Its one of my favorite times of the year. There’s nothing like exploring the city on foot and feeling a Jacaranda flower falling on your shoulder. Legend has it that you will have good luck if a Jacaranda flower falls on you.
