Jakarta Skyline

Jakarta is the capital and largest city of Indonesia (in South East Asia). The city is located on the North West coast of Java and has an urban population of 9 million people. More than 24 million people live in the Jakarta metropolitan area. The city was established in 397 AD. The city was formerly known as Sunda Kelapa (from 397–1527), Jayakarta (from 1527–1619), Batavia (from 1619–1942), and Djakarta (from 1942–1972).     This is really just.. wrong! haha. I live in Jakarta (I’m Indonesian) and I believe this photo was taken somewhere around 1990-2000. I mean, now that building on the right is finished already (Grand Indonesia Mall) and There are so much more buildings in bunderan H.I. now. Jakarta is a very fast growing city, in 1975, Jakarta has only 3 buildings! 😀
