Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde was born as Olivia Jane Cockburn in New York City in the United States in 1984. She is a famed actress, probably best known for her roles as Alex Kelly in The OC and Dr Remy “Thirteen” Hadley in House. She has also starred in a few films including The Girl Next Door in 2004, Conversations with Other Women in 2005, Alpha Dog and Turistas in 2006, The Death and Life of Bobby Z in 2007, Fix in 2008 and most recently in Year One in 2009. She has also been cast in 2 other upcoming movies, In Northwood due for release later this year and Tron Legacy due for release next year. She was considered for the role of Vesper Lynd in the 21st James Bond film, Casino Royale but Eva Green got the role in the end. She’s been selected as a Featured Babe on Running Wolf’s Rant.

She was born into a family of journalists. Her mother, Leslie Cockburn is a journalist and producer for the infamous 60 Minutes. Olivia Wilde has cited Meryl Streep, Sigourney Weaver, Frances McDormand, Catherine Keener and Robin Wright Penn as insparations for her acting career. She was ranked at the number 1 spot recently (May 2009) for the Maxim Hot 100 list. She derived her stage name from the famous author Oscar Wilde. She is married to the famed Italian-American film maker, photographer, and flamenco guitar player Tao Ruspoli. Olivia Wilde is a supporter of the youth voter organization 18 in ’08. She appeared in a public service announcement for them in 2008. She also campaigned with fellow actors Justin Long and Kal Penn for Democratic US Presidential Nominee Barack Obama in 2008.

Olivia Wilde plays one of my favorite characters in the TV series House. I’m sure that we will see this talented actress in more roles in the future. Maybe she’ll be cast as the new Bond girl, who knows. Photos courtesy of Skins.be and Celebrity Pictures.
