Kayla Scott Interview

Today I’m interviewing the lovely model Kayla Scott. She has been selected as today’s Featured Babe. Regular readers of this blog will know that I’ve featured her as a Daily Babe about a year ago as well.

For those of you who did not know, she was the last born in a family of 6. She’s originally from Zimbabwe but she lives in Johannesburg, South Africa nowadays.  She thinks that she’s one of those happy go lucky people, or at least she tries to be. She doesn’t really let anything get to her and she generally sees an up-side to everything.

Kayla Scott started modeling back in 2009 and she has been loving it ever since. Besides doing some modelling, she’s a podium dancer as well. Dancing was her first passion and it’s still the main thing she would like to pursue in her career. She doesn’t like doing one thing, she normally gets bored, so dancing and modelling fit right into her life because she can do anything else she wants and they don’t get in the way.

Besides this, she has a not-so-boring day job as well – she’s a web and graphic designer. Both of her brothers are computer geeks so they taught her a lot about computers and designing. And to top it all off, she’s the editor of an events photography company. Maybe one day she’ll be a photographer too.

She enjoys reading when she has the time. One has to say that it’s very difficult in this day and age with all the technology.

But she finds that it’s the most amazing way to escape reality. Reading a book just makes you feel like you are actually living the story and she thinks that’s fantastic. Besides this she also enjoys horse riding and making scrap books.

Kayla Scott used to  be quite the party girl back in her day, but she met the man of her dreams and she has settled down for a more stable lifestyle. Right now she think she’s just where she wants to be and that she’s heading in the right direction.

She’s very blessed in her life and she only has her Saviour to thank for that – she’s convinced that all this has not happened by chance or luck and that she’s where she is, by His hand.

I recently had the opportunity to interview Kayla Scott and this is what she had to say:

Did you also want to be a model when you were growing up or did you decide it one day overnight?

I never even thought about being a model until maybe 2008 when people started commenting on my height and saying I should be a model. When I was small I always wanted to be a singer and dancer, but now that I am modeling I really love it!!

You went to Oppikoppi this year, how was that for you? Any highlights?

Well, from what I can remember it was awesome!! 😉 My highlight was escaping reality for a while.

What is the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you during a shoot?

I did a beach shoot and a big wave came up behind me and knocked me right over unexpectedly and I lost my bikini top in the process!!

Would you say that Social Media has changed your life and how?

No I don’t think it has very much at all, who I am now is who I have always been 🙂

What are you currently working on?

Oooo, now thats a little secret 😉 But, what I can say is that you are going to love it and it should be complete in the next 2 months 🙂

If you could give any aspiring models out there advice what would you say?

I know it is hard to be in this business, it’s hard to get in and it’s hard to stay in, but never lower your standards and NEVER loose sight of your morals! Being “slutty” gets you attention but in the long run, it’s not the attention that is going to get you anywhere in your career!

I would like to take this time to thank Kayla Scott for taking her time answer my questions. I wish her all the best with her future endeavours. Check out her official website and her Facebook Fan page . You can also check out her FHM Modelbook Profile for more photos of her.
