Koblenz (located in modern day Germany) was established as a military post by Drusus in about 8 BC. The city celebrated its 2000th anniversary in 1992. Today Koblenz has a population of more than 106,000. During the 2nd World War it was the location of the command of Army Group B. It was heavily bombed during the war and rebuilt afterwards (like many German cities). The city is on the banks of the Rhine river. I have not visited this city in my lifetime but I might one day (on recommendation of my Saffa friend @DieFokopFeetjie who lives in Germany). This photo of the Koblenz skyline was selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 4th of November 2010.
Yesterday a photo of the Manila Skyline (located in the Phillippines) was the Daily Cool Photo on this blog. Watch this space for daily updates in the Photography and Babes categories on this blog.
